3rd Annual Bosgraf Lectures

Bethel OPC in Oostburg, WI is thrilled to host the 3rd annual Bosgraf Lecture series on Missions and Discipleship this coming November.

Our featured speaker this year is Dr. Brian Fikkert who serves as Professor of Economics and Community Development.  Dr. Fikkert is also the Founder and President of the Chalmers Center for Economic Development at Covenant College. Dr. Fikkert is coauthor of the best-selling book When Helping Hurts: How to Alleviate Poverty Without Hurting the Poor…and Yourself as well as Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions, Helping Without Hurting in Church Benevolence, and From Dependence to Dignity: How to Alleviate Poverty Through Church-Centered Microfinance.

SCHEDULE:

   Saturday November 12

  • 8am – Noon — From Dependence to Dignity: Designing Effective Strategies for Mercy Ministry
    • Open to all interested in working through local ministries or the local church to provide helpful ministries of mercy in their local community.
  •  6pm  —  When Helping Hurts: How to Alleviate Poverty without Hurting the Poor…and Yourself
    • Lecture and question/answer time.

  Sunday November 13

  • 9am —  Luke 7: 18-23 “Who is Jesus?,”  Dr. Fikkert will be preaching.
    • Come worship with us! Following the morning worship service Dr. Fikkert will teach during the adult education hour from 10:30-11:30am.

There is no cost for any of these events but we do ask that you register via the Eventbrite links provided so we can plan for space and food for all attending.
